The teenager took the record just days after English midfielder Jude Bellingham had set it appearing for the national side at 17 years and 349 days.
Rounding out the top five youngest players to play in the Euros are Dutch full back Jetro Willems who appeared in the 2012 tournament at the age of 18 years and 71 days. Fifth place is taken by Belgian Enzo Scifo who way back in 1984 faced Yugoslavia aged 18 years and 115 days.
