FC Barcelona World Cup heroines honoured at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

All the players who starred in Australia and New Zealand appear on the pitch before the game with Sevilla

The Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys was on its feet in the build-up to today's game with Sevilla to welcome into the field the 15 players that made FC Barcelona the most represented team at the recent World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, ten of whom came home with medals. 

 

Irene Paredes, Salma Paralluelo, Mariona Caldentey, Alexia Putellas, Cata Coll, Aitana Bonmatí and Ona Batlle were all part of the Spain team that won the top prize, beating England in the final, who also had blaugrana representatives in Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh. And not forgetting Fridolina Rolfö, whose finished third with Sweden. 

Also present after playing at the competition for their countries were Asisat Oshoala, Caroline Graham Hansen, Ingrid Engen, Esmee Brugts and Giulia Dragoni.

Special mention for Aitana

Of all those 15, there was one who was particularly honoured... Aitana Bonmatí who UEFA named the player of the tournament.
